A front is coming through and ahead of it are some serious winds. Via the NWS:

A STRONG COLD FRONT IS EXPECTED TO CROSS CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING. UNSEASONABLY WARM HUMID AIR AND VERY
STRONG SOUTHWESTERLY WINDS JUST ABOVE THE SURFACE LAYER WILL BRING A SLIGHT CHANCE FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH DAMAGING WINDS.

SKYWARN SPOTTERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO REPORT ANY SEVERE OR SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ASSOCIATED WITH THESE STORMS ON WEDNESDAY.

And the official outlook:

This Afternoon: Partly sunny, with a high near 75. Southwest wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.

Tonight: A slight chance of showers after 4am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 60. Southwest wind between 9 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Wednesday: A slight chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 73. Breezy, with a southwest wind between 17 and 21 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Wednesday Night: A chance of showers before midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 42. West wind between 9 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
