Tracy Lynn Carr Baldwin, 38, of Chapel Hill died Saturday, May 12, 2007 at her home.
Tracy was born in Columbia, SC, graduating from Irmo High School. She attended North Carolina State University and graduated from Meredith College, Raleigh, NC in 1997, majoring in History. Since graduation Tracy worked in the Chapel Hill area in the computer technology field.
Her passions were gourmet cooking, lost and injured animals and gardening.
Tracy loved life and cared deeply regarding her family and friends. She will be missed.
Surviving are her mother and stepfather, Lynn Powell Hill and Wallace L. Hill, III of Denver, NC; her father and stepmother, John D. Carr and Tina M. Carr of Preston, MD; two sisters, April and Rachel Carr, both of Preston, MD; her stepbrother, Chip Hill and wife Pam of Charlotte, NC; her grandmother, Cassie E. Carr of Roanoke, VA; two aunts, Gloria Hughes of Roanoke, VA and Louise Marshall of Natural Bridge, VA; and her uncles, Delmas Carr of Seymour, IN and Douglas, Ronald and Colby Powell.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 17, 2007 at Oakley’s Funeral Home South Chapel, 4257 Brambleton Ave. SW, in Roanoke, VA, with a visitation from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at Oakey’s Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Powell Family Cemetary in Bent Mountain, VA. The family will also receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at walker’s Funeral Home, 120 W. Franklin Street, Chapel Hill, NC.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the The Tracy Carr Baldwin Scholarship Fund now being established in her name.
