Bumper stickers promoting the N.C. Department of Transportation’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Division and the UNC Highway Safety Research Center’s new campaign, “Watch for Me NC,†are available for free at Carrboro Town Hall.
Watch for Me NC is a pedestrian-safety education and enforcement campaign based in the Triangle and is aimed at reducing the number of pedestrians hit or injured by vehicles. The campaign encourages safe behavior from motorists as well as pedestrians.
The free bumper stickers promote the campaign and read, “I brake for people.†If you’d like a poster from the campaign to hang up in a workplace, public bulletin board or community gathering space, contact Carrboro transportation planner Jeff Brubaker at jbrubaker@townofcarrboro.org or by phone at (919) 918-7329.
