Graig Meyer, coordinator of the CHCCS Blue Ribbon Mentor-Advocate (BRMA) program, will help attendees at the 2012 School Improvement Innovation Summit design plans to overcome the persistent and widening achievement gap in schools.
The summit will be held July 16-17 in Salt Lake City, and will feature significant keynote addresses from educational experts and leaders from across the nation. This past year Meyer was honored with the University Diversity Award from UNC for his work on closing the achievement gap.
BRMA is a comprehensive support program for CHCCS students that provides mentoring, tutoring, leadership training and college scholarships. One hundred percent of program graduates move on to post-secondary education, entering the program in fourth grade and staying involved throughout high school.
