Ernest Lassiter Sr., 73, of Chapel Hill passed away Thursday, March 4th, peacefully into the arms of the Lord at his home, after a courageous battle with a long-term illness.
Ernest was a lifelong electrical contractor and builder in the Triangle area. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dianna Lynn Lassiter, and grandson, Jeremy Joseph Lassiter.
He was a loving husband of 53 years to Roxie Lassiter of the home and a compassionate father of three surviving children, Ernest Lassiter Jr. of Greensboro, Robert Lassiter of Chapel Hill and Brad Lassiter of Chapel Hill. He was also a playful grandfather to four surviving grandchildren, Dustin Gross of Boston, Mass., Courtney Gross of New Port News, Va., and Tyler Lassiter of Seffner, Fla., and the proud great-grandfather of two, Kaelynn Spencer of New Port News, Va. and Jayden Lassiter of Seffner, Fla.
A celebration of Ernest’s life was held Sunday, March 7 at Walker’s Funeral Home in Chapel Hill.
