McDougle Elementary held its annual Family Culture Night this past Thursday. Hundreds of families came out to learn about students’ family heritages.
Each student utilized a passport to travel to various country tables. Individual tables showcased cultural foods, games, art, clothing and more. Students completed make-and-take activities at some of the tables and asked the presenters questions. Throughout the evening, there were performances in salsa dancing, belly dancing and group dancing.
Families learned about Australia, Africa, China, Japan, Mexico, Lithuania, Germany, England, Switzerland, Haiti and more.
The event was sponsored by the MES PTA.
