The 23rd annual Mayan Weaving Sale, supporting aid to Guatemala, will be held this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Church of Reconciliation at 110 North Elliott Road in Chapel Hill. This year’s sale is again dedicated primarily to the work of Rosario Diaz Vicente, a nurse, midwife, organizer of weaving and sewing cooperatives, founder and superintendent of a remedial school for non-literate persons aged 6 to 60 and manager of a revolving loan fund providing micro-loans for Mayan women.
