Bradshaw Quarry center to close

Orange County’s solid waste convenience center on Bradshaw Quarry will close for good on Sunday, Sept. 20 at 5 p.m., county officials announced this week.

Closing the center, which takes in the smallest volume of the county’s five solid waste convenience centers, was identified as a possible cost savings in budget discussions in May and June.

The four remaining centers, which county residents may use to discard household waste, bulky items, vegetative waste and recyclables are located on Eubanks Road in Chapel Hill, Ferguson Road in Bingham Township, High Rock Road in Efland and Walnut Grove Church Road in Hillsborough.
