A development moratorium for the Glen Lennox area, convening a summit on affordable housing, better health care access for Latino families and a push for a living wage were among the items under discussion Sunday at a delegates assembly for the newly formed Orange County Organizing Committee.

More than 250 individuals representing local churches and religious groups, nonprofits and social service agencies attended the assembly at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on Rosemary Street in Chapel Hill.
Representatives of the committee quizzed local officials on their commitment to affordable housing, immigrant rights and other issues.

(The committee’s case for action on several issues is in the opinion section of The Citizen.)
