News brief: Social Justice Awareness Day

NC Community Shares will host a Social Justice Awareness Day on Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Twig in Village Plaza on Elliott Road.

The event will feature music, door prizes and refreshments. Twig, a store that specializes in environmentally friendly products, will donate 20 percent of sales during the event.

NC Community Shares is a federation of more than 30 community-based nonprofits dedicated to working for fairness and equality in North Carolina. Several of its member organizations will be on hand at the event to share information about their work.
