School Brief: Foundation receives grant

Aug 21, 2008 Schools Jump to Comments

The Chapel Hill-Carrboro Public School Foundation last week received a $10,000 grant from the Staples Foundation for Learning.

Funding from the grant will support the East Chapel Hill Rotary Club Teacher Supply Store, which enables teachers from Chapel Hill-Carrboro City schools to obtain free school supplies for their students. The store, which opened its doors earlier this week, will help ensure that all students, including those in self-contained exceptional-education classrooms and those from low-income families, receive the educational tools needed to inspire them to learn and succeed.

The Public School Foundation gave all kindergarten through fifth-grade teachers a $100 voucher to be used at the store.
