School Brief: Teacher laptops

Aug 14, 2008 Schools Jump to Comments

In the next year, the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools district will put laptops in the hands of all its high school teachers.

After Carrboro High opened last year with laptops and docking stations for each classroom, administrators saw unexpected benefits to teacher recruitment and teacher retention.

East Chapel Hill High School and Chapel Hill High School teachers will receive laptops soon, according to a district press release.

A lease-purchase agreement has been arranged. The district hopes to get laptops to middle and elementary school teachers in coming years.
