News Brief: Buckhorn vote delayed

Jun 5, 2008 Uncategorized Jump to Comments

The Board of County Commissioners on Tuesday voted to postpone a decision regarding the special-use permit application for Buckhorn Village until September 2.

The Orange County Planning Board had requested more time to make a recommendation regarding the proposed 1.1 million square foot development off Buckhorn Road, near I-85/I-40 in the western part of Orange County. Developers and county officials have said the development could bring in sales tax revenue and curb property tax increases.

The project is being developed by Buckhorn Road Associates. The group submitted their plan for the development to the county in December.

The county planning board is scheduled to make a recommendation to the commissioners regarding the development no later than September 2.
