School Brief: Middle math

The Phillips Middle Geometry and Algebra II Math Teams finished first in the Regional Mathematics Competition at UNC-Pembroke on March 13.

Ten students placed individually and will participate in the state competition on May 10. In algebra I, Alex Kelly placed first and Bernie Amaldoss placed seventh. Students Yu Wang, Daniel Liu, Sheila Deng, Alice Huang and Shreya Das finished first through fifth in geometry, respectively.

In algebra II, Nicholas Tae placed second, Avi Aggarwal placed third and William Holub-Moorman placed fourth.
