News Brief: Silent animal art auction

Apr 24, 2008 News Jump to Comments

The Conservators’ Center will hold a silent auction of the center’s animals’ paintings and a wine tasting on May 3 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Eno River Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Durham.

The animals have created paintings with the help of a local artist. The paintings, behind the scenes tours of the center and the Duke Primate Center, gift packages from local breweries and wineries, photos of the animals and more will be auctioned.

Big Boss Brewing Company and Horizon Cellars will provide hors d’oeuvres and complimentary beverages.

Tickets are $20 for non-members before May 1, or $25 at the door. Proceeds will benefit the Conservators’ Center, a nonprofit sanctuary and conservation breeding facility that specializes in responsible captive breeding of selected species, education programs and rescue and placement of animals in need.

For tickets, call 625-6634 or email bid4conservation@live.com.
