Apr 17, 2008 News Jump to Comments

Watch your documents as they are destroyed at a free shred-a-thon at University Mall in Chapel Hill on Tuesday, April 22, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The event is sponsored by the North Carolina Attorney General’s Office, the Chapel Hill Police Department and A-Shred-Ahead. Identity theft prevention information will also be available.

People are encouraged to bring old tax returns, checks, credit applications, employment records or any other sensitive documents. There is no need to remove staples or paper clips. Shredding takes about 10 minutes.
