I hope a lot of anti-tax people turn out and vote this down. No one is talking about the county reducing unnecessary spending as a way to meet its budget. As far as I know this option has never been discussed. For the average person, when costs go up for something necessary they have to cut their personal budget somewhere else to balance it(witness recent fuel price increases and resultant decrease in driving). Why can't the county do this? An example is the exhorbitant cost of new schools, among the highest in the state. Cut the bling and the tax won't be necessary. Geez!
