Elect Burroughs
The public school system in Chapel Hill and Carrboro is rightly regarded as one of the best in the state of North Carolina. Greene change
It is one thing to espouse change for Chapel Hill, and quite another to have the leadership and work ethic to effect real change. Sally Greene has been extraordinarily effective for Chapel Hill, working with her fellow citizens and town council members to bring us such improvements as a 92-acre permanent conservation easement along Morgan Creek, changes to zoning rules to promote affordable housing, the creation of four new neighborhood conservation districts and a 10-year plan to end chronic homelessness.
Please join me in supporting Sally Greene for re-election to Chapel Hill Town Council.

Chilton, Broun, Coleman, Lavelle
Earlier this week, the NC Chapter of the Sierra Club announced its endorsement of Mark Chilton for mayor of Carrboro and Joal Hall Broun, Dan Colemen and Lydia Lavelle for the Carrboro Board of Aldermen. I myself cannot vote for these candidates because I do not live in Carrboro. However, if I lived in Carrboro I would vote for these candidates. I have followed Mark’s environmental initiatives since he was on the Chapel Hill Town Council while a UNC student. Joal Hall Broun, Dan Coleman and Lydia Lavelle are all working on transit, an issue crucial to the future health of our community. Dan Coleman is working with the Planning Board to develop green building guidelines.

Hike-a-thon
The Justin Coleman Foundation will host a memorial hike-a-thon on Saturday at noon at the NC Botanical Gardens.
Participants will meet at the Totten Center at the gardens for a 1-, 3- or 10-mile hike.
Those who hike 10 miles will be treated with ice cream. Donations will be accepted and proceeds will benefit Camp ReLEAF, the Carolina Donor Services and Outward Bound.
Coleman, the son of Chapel Hill residents Julie and William Coleman, was killed in an automobile accident in Australia in 2003. He was an avid hiker and organ donor, and his organ donations helped save the lives of 23 people. More »
