News brief: Chatham Transfer Tax

Oct 4, 2007 News Jump to Comments

The Chatham County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously this week to restrict 85 percent of revenues from a proposed land transfer tax for schools. The restriction is effective until at least the end of 2010, when a majority of the board will be up for reelection.  Voters will consider approval of the local-option transfer tax in the November election.
