Charles William “Will” Steiner, II, age 43, died at his home on September 1, 2007. Steiner was proprietor of several Outback restaurants over the years, and will be remembered by those who worked for him as a caretaker whose kindness, integrity and generosity were unfailing. His outreach into the community took the form of charity events for many organizations and causes.

Steiner was the consummate outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, scuba dive, ride his four-wheeler and explore in his various watercraft. He was an accomplished cook and an animated and hilarious storyteller. He was adventurous, passionate about all of his interests, a joyful spirit and a loving and beloved husband,  son, brother and friend.

For those who loved him dearly, there are no words to describe how much he will be missed. We can only be grateful for all the times we had together.

Steiner leaves behind his adored wife, Wendy, loving parents, Robert Bashford and Ann Terhune, his step-parents, Ramsey Terhune and Cynthia Bashford, and his brothers, Jonathan, Bear, David, Dylan, Graham and Taylor, and his faithful canine companions, Rip and Macey.

There will be a memorial service at the Chapel of the Cross in Chapel Hill on Thursday, September 6 at 2 p.m. with burial to follow in the churchyard. There will be a reception to greet the family in the church dining room after the burial.
