Letters to the editor: 9/06/07

Here are some stories
I read where you’d like some letters to the editor on some stories:

  • You pick up Valarie Schwartz. She writes one of the most enjoyable pieces she has written in the 10 years that I remember her writing.
  • You inform me that my daughters’ new principal, Nathan Hester, speaks French… expect a little parlez-vous-avec-lui in Nathan’s future.
  • Ruth Solomon Wright’s obituary is a lovely story. Refreshingly exempt of her mundane accomplishments. What’s really important:
  • “… Wright has a love for her family and friends. She loved to provide for them by cooking many special recipes and always sending something home with each one.” Wonderful!
  • George “Cat Baby” Cannada: Heavens bless Jock Lauterer for this vivid description of a Carrboro character. I feel like I knew the “cat” personally. This may be the nudge that gets me to show up for a high school football game.

So what’s not a story? Keep up the fine work, Carrboro Citizen.

John Allore
