Vennie Neal Best, 94, of Carrboro, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2007.
She was the daughter of the late John Yancey Neal and the late Alice Burke Neal.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thurman E. Best, and her son, Danny M. Best, Sr.

Mrs. Best retired from UNC Hospital and was a member of the former Carrboro Baptist Church.

She is survived by three grandchildren, Danny M. Best, Jr., Christopher A. Best and Gena L. Best; and a great grandchild, Aaron M. Best. Also surviving is her daughter-in-law, Janie H. Best, along with several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Westwood Cemetery in Carrboro with Rev. Ralph L. Neal officiating.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Saturday, August 11 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and then proceeded to the cemetery from the funeral home after the visitation.

Walker’s Funeral Home of Chapel Hill served the Best family.
