Sally Miller Johnston died July 20, of heart failure, at her home in Chapel Hill. She was 64.

She was born and raised in Hartford, Connecticut, and graduated and received a Masters Degree from Brown University. She was active in the Orange County Democratic Party, and had several real estate investments, serving for ten years as president of Kensington Trace Homeowners Association and for 17 years as a secretary of Ocean Reef Homeowners Association in Emerald Isle, N.C.

Friends are welcome to visit at her home on Buena Vista Way in Chapel Hill. A memorial gathering is being planned for the fall.

Survivors include her husband, Alan; her brother, sister-in-law and niece, Robert, Susan and Lauren Miller of Bloomfield, Connecticut; and a host of friends and relatives around the globe.

Walker’s Funeral Home of Chapel Hill is serving the Johnston family.
