Thelma Horner Duncan
Thelma Horner Duncan, 86, of Chapel Hill died Monday morning at Carol Woods Health Center.
A native of Alamance Count, she spent almost all of her life in Orange County where she was a member of the North Chapel Hill Baptist Church and had retired from UNC.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 am Saturday at the North Chapel Hill Baptist Church by the Rev. Lee Carter. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.
She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Dillehay McLearie and husband, Robert, of Wilmington; two sons, Robert Gregory Duncan and wife, Janet, of Camden and Daniel Crudup Duncan and wife, Lisa, of Fuquay-Varina; two sisters, Doris Stephens of Durham and Shirley Carter of Winterville, GA; two brothers, Richard Horner of Deleon Springs, FL and Frank D. Horner of Townsville; three grandchildren, Jordan Duncan, Rachel Duncan and Anne Marie Whidbee. She was predeceased by 2 husbands, David Dillehay and John Crudup Duncan, her parents and a brother, D.M. Horner.
Memorials in her name may be made to: Baptist Children’s Homes of NC, PO Box 338, Thomasville, NC 27361.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Friday evening at Walker’s Funeral Home, Chapel Hill.
