One of the reasons I decided to start this blog was to add a dose of reality to the way we look at housing, prices and the economic trends in our area.
One of the first things I did was start looking for mls listing and such. So, I typed in a simple search (carrboro mls) in Google and got this description of our area on an online mls service:
Mostly comprised of twenty somethings (median age 28). The average per capita income is $23,548, where families earn $8,258 more when accounting for two household bread-winners.
It left me feeling a little insulted that it was so far off base and a little vindicated at the same time.
